The range consists of spunlace non-woven - 70% viscose and 30% polyester fabrics in addition to a textile net, bonded together by ultrasonics. The advanced technologies used to create the fabric of the swabs creates a very low lint product with functional resistance in both a dry and wet state, as well as excellent softness and enhanced absorption properties.

The Texart® Brand offers a range of sterile and non-sterile swabs, for standard wound care and abdominal procedures. Available with an x-ray detectable thread to avoid the unlikely event of a swab being unaccounted for after closure.

The Texart® Swabs include extra controls to significantly reduce the problem of miscounting with a weighing system used during manufacturing for quantity control measures that offer additional quality control of the number of pieces in the pack (99.5% exact 5 pack count guarantee). Texart® was developed in order to meet the definition of the ideal swab:

“It should be highly absorbent and should not shed significant quantities of fibres or particles during use. The fabric from which it is constructed should contain no toxic substances and the swab should have a high wet strength so that it is not damaged by wringing. The material should be soft and conforming both wet and dry, and should not form lumps when wet. If the material is to be introduced into the human body during any form of surgical procedure it should have a radiographically detectable thread/patch which must be firmly incorporated into the structure.”
