Farrier Kit Contents & Usage
Pull Offs:
Available in 12” and 14” this tool is used for the removal of shoes. It is manufactured using high quality tool steel and hand finished and polished to the highest standards.
Maintenance:
To maintain the tool clean between the end stops, the two flat surfaces between the rivet and the blade, with a wire brush and oil the rivet with a good quality lubricating oil on a weekly basis. This will dramatically improve the longevity of the tool.
Creased Nail Pullers:
Made from high quality tool steel this tool has jaws designed to fit between nails easily and are narrow enough to remove an E or CH nail.
Maintenance:
To maintain the jaws regularly clean between the jaws with a wire brush and oil the rivet with a good quality lubricating oil on a weekly basis.
Nylon Headed Hammer:
This hammer has a light nylon head to avoid any damage whilst striking the buffer. It is lightweight and with 32cm hickory shaft. an inner cutting edge which will ring off nails with ease. The handle is made from high quality hickory and is approximately 15” in
Maintenance:
To maintain the working face clean regularly with wipes.
Under no circumstances should this hammer be used to drive in stud nails as this will cause chipping and stress fractures and possible personally injury.
Wood Handled Buffer / Clench Cutter:
This tool has been designed to with a cutting edge on both side of the tool for easier use and has been heat treated for durability. The ergonomic handle allows for use in both the left and the right hand and provides a very comfortable feeling tool.
Maintenance:
Regular maintenance of the cutting edges is essential and we suggest the use of a nylon head hammer to strike the tool. This will dramatically improve the life of the tool and this will reduce the risk of chipping and personal injury. Any burrs that appear should be ground back regularly.
