Canine Brucella Rapid Test Kit
The Biopanda Brucella LPS Antibody Rapid Test qualitatively detects canine brucella LPS antibodies (C. Bru-LPS Ab) from a dog's whole blood, serum or plasma sample. This test is a lateral flow immuno-chromatographic assay. The cassette has a test window with invisible test (T) and control (C) regions that become visible during sample testing. If enough canine brucella LPS antibody is present in the sample, the T band will become visible. The C band will appear during all tests to clarify a valid result.
✚ Pack of 10 Kits
Kit Contents:
- 10 x Foil wrapped cassettes with a dropper and desiccant
- 1 x Assay buffer tube
- 1 x Package insert
Test Procedure
Allow the test cassette, sample, and buffer to reach room temperature (15 - 30ºC) prior to testing.
- Collect a dog's fresh whole blood sample. If using serum or plasma, separate from blood as soon as possible to avoid haemolysis (Only use clear, non-haemolysed samples. Do not leave the samples at room temperature for prolonged periods. Serum and plasma samples may be stored at 2 - 8ºC for up to 3 days. For long term storage, samples should be kept below -20ºC).
- Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and place on a clean, level surface.
- Using the dropped provided, transfer 1 drop of sample (approx. 10μl) into the sample well of the test cassette, immediately followed by 2 drops of buffer (approx. 80μl). Start the timer.
- Read the results at 10 minutes. Results read after 15 minutes are considered invalid.
Interpretation of Results
- Positive: *Two distinct coloured lines appear. One coloured line appears in the control line region (C) and the other coloured line appears in the test line region (T).
*NOTE: The intensity of the colour in the test region (T) may vary depending on the concentration of canine brucella LPS antibodies present in the sample. Therefore, any shade of colour in the test region should be considered positive. - Negative: One coloured line appears in the control line region (C). No line appears in the test line region (T).
- Invalid: Control line fails to appear. Results from any test which has not produced a control line at the specified reading time must be discarded. Please review the procedure and repeat with a new test. If the problem persists, discontinue using the kit immediately and contact your local distributor.
Limitations of the Test
This test is for in-vitro veterinary diagnosis only.
Precautions
Read and follow the below points before testing:
- Ensure the test kit is brought to room temperature before running the test.
- Keep the cassette inside the foil pouch until it is needed.
- Ensure each test is used only once.
- Test kits that have reached their expiry date should not be used.
- Only use reagents from this kit when performing the test to ensure quality controlled testing.
- Protective clothing such as laboratory coats, disposasble gloves, and eye protection should be worn when testing.
- Handle all samples as if they contain infectious agents. Observe established precautions against microbiological hazards throughout the procedure and follow standard procedures for proper disposal of samples and used tests.
- Extremes of humidity and temperature can adversely affect results.
Storage Instructions
Store the kit between 2 - 30ºC and ensure the kits are not frozen or stored in direct sunlight. The test is valid until the expiration date printed on the foil wrapping.
